One of my best friends had come up from his house by Lancaster, and told me that I was going to shave his head for him. He wanted to show me his support. I knew he was serious, but wasn't sure it was going to happen this trip. I made plans for us for the holiday, first we went to my in-laws, and that is when my brother in law showed up with the clippers. The first one to get their hair cut was my friend's roommate. I was surprised because I had never met the guy, and he was willing to shave his hair off for me. I know for a guy it isn't as a big a deal because the hair is usually kept shorter, but I was speechless. Next was my mother-in-law, yes you read that right! As soon as the roommate was done, she jumped into the chair and said it was her turn. I watched as my brother-in-law, Abe, cut her hair with scissors, and I cried a bit. I truly didn't expect this one. As he took the clippers to her head, my eyes started to fill again, and this time, my friend, Angel, saw. He came over, gave me a huge hug, and told me that we were all in this together and that everyone loved me. I knew I had support, but this was insane. Next was Angel, and I did get the honor of shaving some of his hair off. Then it was my father-in-law's turn, and finally my husband. I got all emotional every time someone new was in the chair. By the time it was all said and done, there were 5 of us sporting the same hair do!
I have an issue where I tend to remember the all negative stuff that happens between myself and the other individual, but that day, I really learned to look past all that and move forward. I have so much love, and support, that I need to replace the negative energy with this positive one. My family loves and supports me 100%, and I could not be more grateful to have them!
